Job Description:
Space & Sensors is seeking an Associate Design professional to work with Engineering to be a Mentor Graphics Xpedition parts librarian; complete new part requests, update/obsolete existing parts, maintain and expand company-wide part library. We would prefer to have somone in Ohio, but will consider remote, East Coast preferred.
Essential Functions:
- Create ECAD library elements including schematic symbols and PCB footprint cells using Mentor Graphics Xpedition.
- Experience specifically using Mentor Graphics tools: DxDesigner / Expedition PCB Candidate should be well versed in Mil and IPC Standards.
- Maintain Mentor Graphics library for all of engineering
- Layout responsibilities include schematic capture, PWB design/layout, DXF import/export, design reports generation and resolution, stack-up creation, net physical and spacing constraints, signal routing and matching constraints, post processing, and manufacturing detail generation.
- Adhere to internal design procedures and requirements
- Collaborate in a team environment across engineering disciplines
- Continually search for, recommend and implement design process improvement
- Individual shall possess and demonstrate, independent judgment and decision-making ability, self-motivation and interpersonal communication skills
Required Qualifications:
- Requires broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through higher education. Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
- Library management experience. Librarian specialist or a layout designer with very strong corporate librarian experience.
- Have advanced understanding of electronic components and industry standards for schematic symbol and footprint creation
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in building parts libraries for PCB layout
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in understanding of electronic components and their package information
- Experience with one or more of the following CAD tools: Mentor Xpedition/DxDesigner (preferred), Mentor PADS/DxDesigner (optional)
- Must be highly detailed oriented with good communication (verbal and written) skillsThis position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship
- Self-starter with previous experience in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment
- Able to take direction and work with design engineers
- Proficient with MicroSoft Office Products (excel, word, outlook, etc.
Preferred Qualificatios:
- IPC Designer Certification (CID)
In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role in Colorado is Min: 56K – Max: 104K.
