We need a Software Engineering Leader to help Myriad Genetics, Inc. deliver innovative products that allow patients to make life-changing decisions. Our genetic screening and testing help to provide actionable insights to empower people to make critical and timely healthcare decisions by using molecular diagnostic tests for hereditary cancer, urological cancer, depression, and other diseases. This is a REMOTE – WORK FROM HOME (US only) position with flex-work as an option if you are near a Myriad location.

Job Responsibilities:
- Lead major software engineering initiatives to design, build and ship digital products used by patients, providers, and other stakeholders
- Develop, coach, and mentor high performing team(s) of software engineers
- Activate and foster a culture of technologists inspired by the Myriad mission
- Evolve contemporary SDLC processes and technical best practices (i.e. cloud native, de-coupled, etc.) to ensure stable and scalable systems
- Partner with security, quality, and compliance to build those dimensions natively
- Partner with other key leaders like Product & UX to build simple, elegant, and valued digital solutions
- Manage and effectively communicate direction, progress and risks with external partners and stakeholders
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional software experience with demonstrated leadership experience
- Strong opinions about how to grow a team, contribute to a vibrant developer culture and exhibit servant leadership
- Evangelist for ‘clean code’ and Agile ways of working
- Caring and empathetic leader, continuously evolving as an inclusive leader
- Highly collaborative, curious, and seeks to understand
- Prioritizes “bringing people with you” vs being the smartest person in the room
- Ability to break down larger problems into smaller components and potential resolutions
- Can lead through uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity
- Working knowledge and past experiences with the varied programming languages/technologies, like Python, Django, Kotlin, React, Vue, AWS, Kafka, GraphQL
