Job Description

As a Senior Compensation Analyst at Scorpion, you will provide broad-based support for compensation programs, policies, and procedures throughout the company. Reporting directly to the Director of Compensation, your ultimate goal is ensuring that Scorpion remains competitive in the labor market while supporting the effective execution of a comprehensive compensation program that attracts and retains the best talent.
To succeed in this role, you need to have a solid and successful track record of researching, assisting in designing, implementing and administering compensation programs. Strong analytical, communication and relationship-building skills are also necessary to be effective in your role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Scorpion’s compensation programs, policies, and procedures company-wide
  • Partner across the organization to ensure compensation programs are working effectively
  • Assist with designing and building compensation metrics, reports, and tools that aid in informing compensation decisions
  • Assess job duties for new and existing roles to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and price jobs accordingly
  • Provide guidance to Talent Acquisition Managers on the development of job offers related to base/bonus/equity as well as market pricing and internal equity to ensure our Talent Acquisition Managers can attract and land top-tier talent
  • Collaborate in developing compensation program communications, employee statements, policies, meeting materials, etc.
  • Gather and assess data from market-based compensation surveys
  • Support the administration / communication of Scorpion’s option program, including grants, vestings, and exercise activities
  • Remain current on legislative changes such as plan regulations, mandated disclosures, and procedural changes related to equity administration
  • Organize employee focus groups to collect feedback on topics related to compensation
  • Support the organization-wide compliance of federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations

Qualifications

  1. 3-5+ years’ experience as a compensation analyst
  2. Analytical and critical thinking and effective communication skills
  3. Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods
  4. Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to work with employees of all levels
  5. Experience with Payfactors or other compensation software system highly preferred
  6. Proficient with Excel, including experience creating reports, tables, and formulas
  7. Experience with an HRIS or financial system is a plus
  8. Knowledge of human resource laws, regulations, and best practices
  9. SHRM-CP or PHR certificates and certified compensation professional credentials are a plus
