A key aspect of Consulting at Tableau is nurturing customers to develop a culture of self-service analytics utilizing visualization best practices.  The Senior Solution Consultant is responsible for guiding the engagement to enable those objectives and providing feedback to the Sales teams about future opportunities.  This is a great opportunity to join the Professional Services Delivery Team, and strengthen your customer engagement and solutions delivery skills.

The Professional Services Delivery team is the post-sales implementer of Tableau solutions, and therefore highly customer-facing.  In this role, you will spend most of your time meeting with customers, driving enablement and adoption (travel as necessary).

The Senior Solution Consultant owns the frontend design and implementation for allocated accounts, and manages the engagement to provide technical & analytical expertise, consulting on Visual Analytics and guiding on Business Intelligence best practices.

Some of the things you’ll be doing include…

  1. Developing expertise in the features, benefits and application of Tableau’s products – Deep understanding of our Desktop/frontend product(s) and it’s integration into client solutions, and an intermediate level understanding of our Server product(s)
  2. Providing billable Professional Services to Tableau Customers
  3. Travelling to customer locations to provide delivery of Services
  4. Participating in Discovery exercises at customer sites, contributing detailed analytics and visualization input to implementation plans
  5. Lead and deliver analytics-focused professional services engagements for Tableau customers focused on Tableau’s Blueprint methodology.
  6. Help customers define business needs, guide prioritized data creation efforts and data strategy to address critical business questions
  7. Lead our customers in programs to focused on improved data literacy and expanded use of advanced analytics capabilities to share key insights through actionable dashboards and make faster, more impactful business decisions
  8. Conducting data reviews, product demonstrations and ad-hoc onsite customer workshops
  9. Communicating via phone, email, face-to-face and web meetings with customers assisting and guiding them through the proposal and implementation process
  10. Creating Post-Engagement Summaries and documenting final solutions for customers
  11. Assisting Professional Services Management and Sales with specific scoping or technical / guidance in pre-sales discussions

Who you are…

  • Data Rock Star Knowledgeable in databases, warehouses and BI/Visualization Solutions – i.e. Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, Cognos, Business Objects. Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server Experience recommended.
  • Visualization Specialist.  You have a love of creative visualizations that help customers see and understand their data.
  • Customer-Centric.  Experience owning customer engagements and providing best practice advice. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage expectations and customer demands

  • Highly Technical. You have strong technical skills across various technologies.  Understanding of data querying and ability to read SQL statements; programming languages desired – Python & R preferred but not required.
  • Mathematically-Minded.  Strong mathematical/analytical skills.  Experience in statistical Solutions desired.

For Colorado-based roles: Minimum annual salary of $86,800.00. You may also be offered incentive compensation, bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits.
