The Human Resources Generalist joins Best Egg’s People and Workplaces mission of making work better for Best Egg employees and supporting the business objectives of the company. Creative problem solving and customer centric ideas are central to how this team operates.
You will join a HR team of smart, dedicated, and fun co-workers and contribute your strong knowledge of Human Resources best practices, process, laws and compliance to the growth of the company.  This role is expected to take on employee benefits administration and immigration processing in addition to a range of other HR specific responsibilities.
In order to be successful in this role, you should have prior experience in a Human Resources dedicated role at a mid-large sized company in the functions of benefits, compensation, record keeping, short term disability leave FMLA, issue resolution, performance management and compliance.  Ideally you have experience at a pre-IPO or publicly traded company with understanding of the formal HR practices required.

What you will spend most of your time doing:

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; employee engagement; occupational health and safety.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Interfaces with external and internal attorneys to submit requests for immigration sponsorship, gather and submit requests for evidence and follow up.  Communicates immigration process to employee and tracks renewal deadlines.  Maintains immigration policy.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Interacts with benefits and compensation vendors, uses several web-based tools and systems to maintain accurate data records and represent the needs of our employees to our vendor services.
  • Responds to internal requests for sensitive employer information in a timely manner maintaining highest level of confidentiality.
  • Supports Talent Acquisition team to maintain employer compliance by consulting on matters regarding job descriptions, job titles, job tiering, employment offer letters, background checks, new employee onboarding and documentation.
  • Becomes an HRIS expert and performs routine and ad-hoc reporting as requested.  Participates in scoping & rolling out new HRIS technologies.
  • Creates process documentation and guides to support accuracy and best practices.
  • Partner with Operations management team to support performance management and corrective action tracking.
  • Contributes to the growth and optimization of the Human Resources team by researching, communicating new ideas to increase optimization and efficiency, implementing solutions and working as a team.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience. Master’s degree focused in Human Resources, SHRM Certification, or HRCI Certification highly desired.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a dedicated Human Resources administration or generalist role.
  • Expertise navigating and addressing employee feedback from company platforms.
  • Experience administrating employee benefits including managing health insurance, retirement accounts, paid time off, parental leave and FMLA in a company of 500+ persons.
  • Strong knowledge of employment types, work visas and work authorization including EAD, OPT, H1-B, Green Card and the process for an employer to sponsor permits to work.
  • Knowledge of stock options, bonus and incentive compensation plans, IPO readiness and public company HR best practices.
  • Intermediate level skillset in Excel, ability to learn and quickly master HRIS systems.
  • Ability to respond quickly, follow up diligently, apply urgency and discretion.
In addition to semi-monthly salary payments, this position is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance. Salary range $70,000 – $100,000, annual bonus target 20%
