Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join their Data Services team. Their team’s mission is to establish the long-term data strategy of iPay Solutions in order to provide the most innovative and efficient payment processing solutions delivered with unparalleled customer service and support. This position can be worked remotely within the United States.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Leads the conversion of complex data sets into standard formats to successfully load into Jack Henry systems. 
  • Resolves data discrepancies and inconsistencies. Provides feedback to data source providers. 
  • Drives the automation of all data engineering processes.
  • Maintains and improves the quality of data for all systems.
  • Guides the team on data management best practices. 
  • Documents all activities and may train and mentor others on how to support data engineering processes.
  • Coordinates with other teams to ensure duties are completed on-time and accurately.
  • Adheres to internal and client related compliance and security standards with all activities.
  • May perform other job duties as assigned.   

What you’ll need to have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering or software development.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or an additional 8 years of experience in data engineering or software development for a total of 13 years of experience. 
  • Must be able to work in ET or CST time.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed. 

What would be nice for you to have:  

  • Experience with automation of manual and process driven systems.  
  • Working knowledge to support a geographically distributed multi-product software ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated experience with SSIS and ETL Toolset, with SSiS preferred.
  • Understands and follows data manipulation best practices.  Able to set and refine new practices.
  • Experience automating tasks with tools such as Powershell.
  • Ability to write, review, and refine database objects, including stored procedures, triggers, tables, indexes and other database objects.
  • Highly proficient with data cleansing and standardization best practices.
  • Excellent communication and customer interaction skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Assists team leadership and senior team members to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload.
  • Able to multi-task and resolve issues.
  • Understand the need to regard confidential customer and company information with the highest regard.
  • Meets Deadlines and demonstrates the ability to deliver under pressure.
  • Working knowledge of Relational Database Concepts
