The Wanderlust Group

October 8, 2022

Job Description

Hi! We’re The Wanderlust Group an outdoor technology company composed of Dockwa.com, Marinas.com and the forthcoming Campouts. We build marketplaces that connect adventurers to outdoor destinations, and technology that helps those destinations thrive. We believe that the best way we can make the world better is to get people out in it.
At The Wanderlust Group, you’ll be an integral part of a growing team, able to make an immediate impact and work alongside some of the most talented and dynamic people anywhere. We believe that a great culture enables great teams to do incredible things.
We are searching for a Senior Mobile Engineer to be a part of our new Mobile Engineering team. You’d be reporting directly to our Head of Mobile Engineering and focused on building mobile apps that encourage people to put down their screens and fall in love again with the outdoors.
As a Senior iOS Engineer @ TWG you will:
  • Work on our award winning Dockwa mobile app to create a clean, simple, and trustworthy experience for boaters and marinas.
  • Own features from inception to design, implementation, and launch.
  • Work cross-functionally with Designers, Product Managers, and full stack engineers to simultaneously deliver iOS features alongside web counterparts.
  • You will have a deep impact leveling up our iOS app and collaborating with your fellow engineers across teams.
  • You will be an embedded mobile resource onto different projects while simultaneously being part of the Mobile Team owning our Core mobile technologies and processes.
  • You will participate in Engineering wide improvement projects.
We think the best candidates will:
  • Have 5 years of strong Mobile engineering experience with iOS (Android experience is a huge plus!)
  • Have a vision on how we should build and grow our mobile technologies, and an ability to work collaboratively with your team towards that vision.
  • Have experience building mobile apps for consumers and businesses such as Point of Sale.
  • Ensure quality delivery of software with thorough Unit and UI Testing.
  • Be capable of understanding and championing the business impacts of your team’s work, ensuring that you and your team always know what value we are adding through that work, and being able to clearly communicate that to non-technical stakeholders.
TWG is at a place in our growth trajectory that makes it a very exciting time to join. We are a true disruptor in our space without having to also be a destructive force to an already established industry. Our speed to market combined with our ability to grow sustainably is the only thing holding us back. This is a tremendous opportunity for a talented mobile engineer to be part of an environment that welcomes their ideas and values their unique perspective.
We’re all about adventure here @ The Wanderlust Group, but we also want you to know what to expect on your journey with us, starting with the application phase through the interview process:
  • Interview Process Step 1: 30-minute Zoom or Phone / Exploratory call with a member of our Talent Team
  • Interview Process Step 2: 30-minute Zoom Meeting / Initial discussion with a senior member of the Engineering team
  • Interview Process Step 3: A relevant (and FUN!) Mobile App Project to do on your own time
  • Interview Process Step 4: 30-60min Zoom Meeting(s) / Final Round “Team Loop” where you will have 1:1 discussions with three members of our Engineering team

The Wanderlust Group is a unique company and culture. A hybrid B2B and B2C business, we connect boaters to marinas and campers to campgrounds. Because we believe in the value of putting screens down and getting outside, we operate on a 4-day workweek and don’t cap vacation time. We take Mondays off, and prioritize focus and productivity Tuesday through Friday. We also care a lot about the marinas and campgrounds we serve. They are often small businesses playing an important role in the local economy around them.  That dedication carries through our work. Finally, because we are wanderers at heart, we are a remote-first company. This, and all positions, can be based anywhere in the United States.
