About the job- Account Executive, Customer Growth

🔑 THE KEY BITS

  • Whereabouts: We are a fully remote company with distributed team members. However, we are looking for someone in any North American time zone to sync with our Revenue team.
  • Salary: We have budgeted $90-110k USD for this position but encourage all candidates who are excited about the role and qualify to apply. This position will also have a commission structure in addition to base salary.
  • Visas: We do not sponsor work visas or relocation expenses.
  • Interviews: Phone Screen with Nicole-People & Culture Lead (30 minutes), Second Interview with Eric-President/Co-Founder & David Minetti-VP of Sales (45-60 minutes), Third Interview with Becca-Director of Customer Success (30 minutes), and a Fourth interview with Michael-CEO/Co-Founder & Will-COO/Co-Founder (30 minutes)
    • Any final candidates will be asked to complete a 60-day plan assignment
    • Any final candidates will also have an opportunity to meet your new potential Sales team and other Slate team members
  • Ideal Start Date: November/December 2022
  • Reporting to: Dave Minetti, VP of Sales

🌠 YOUR CONTRIBUTION

In this rapidly evolving world, Slate is always looking for new ways to disrupt the status quo, go to market faster, and optimize customer experiences. We have created a brand new position that will act as a hybrid role, partnering alongside both our Customer Success and Sales teams to drive new business for Slate across all customer segments. At a high level, our Customer Growth Account Executive will prospect, develop, and close new sales opportunities within our existing client base.

You will:

  • Proactively identify growth opportunities within Slate’s existing client base, and partner closely with our Customer Success Managers to pursue and close these opportunities
  • Understand the language of all your customers and where we can broaden our offerings by expansion into new business units or increasing utilization of our platform with existing customers
  • Own a book of business, meet with them regularly, and build solid relationships with C-level and key stakeholders
  • Own your numbers – consistently meet and exceed monthly activity, pipeline, and new business metrics
  • Partner closely with Customer Success Managers on major client renewals
  • Leverage relationships within your book of business & partner with AE team to gain warm introductions and positive referrals to other potential clients
  • Conduct active research leveraging all available tools and data sources to understand your customers’ brand, culture, KPIs, partners, and success metrics so you can add value throughout your interactions and become a trusted advisor
  • Gain a solid understanding of your customer’s internal transitions and mitigate the risk of churn
  • Become a Slate and social media expert to confidently speak to ever-changing trends, new product features, and platform enhancements to help our customers realize their full potential and accomplish their goals

Requirements

📬 WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years experience closing in B2B sales
  • Proven success selling/cross selling to enterprise organizations
  • Ability to manage a large number of prospective accounts and identify problems, opportunities and provide solutions for each of them
  • Experience building relationships, presenting and selling to senior level decision makers across multiple functions
  • SaaS experience preferred
  • Naturally curious and innovative mindset who enjoys solving problems
  • Understands and embraces the pressures of growing a startup rapidly
