Business Technology Partner – Remote (CST or EST)

The Business Technology Partner (BTP) role is a strategic partner for the Manufacturing Operations functions, working with them to solve business technology problems, identify and prioritize projects to drive best value, and drive adoption of technology solutions to achieve the Business Partner’s goals & results. They partner to build out technology solution roadmaps and align the development of these solutions with business priorities. The strategy is developed to support the future of the organization by accounting for changes in our global business, industry, and macro technology environment. Manages the connections between the market, the mission and the means.

The BTP role is the face of IT to these functions and is responsible for coordinating & leading the business through process design and implementation of technology solutions, in partnership with Project Management Office and IT service delivery teams. The BTP role is responsible for understanding the business strategy, business demand, and ensuring effective delivery of solutions working in close collaboration with IT delivery teams.

Key Activities:

  • Work with the business to prioritize projects
  • Build relationships with business leadership and key individuals
  • Create clear problem definition, scope, requirements for projects
  • Identify similar initiatives that can be combined to create more value / reduce separate efforts
  • Clearly communicate business needs to IT
  • Additional responsibilities related to the role and as assigned by management

Key Accountabilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor / liaison between IT and the business
  • Identify areas where information and technology can be applied to deliver value (solve business problems / realize opportunities)
  • Work with the business to make the right investment decisions that drive the most value for them
  • Leverage experience to provide the best outcomes
  • Develop a deep understand of assigned business(es) including goals, strategy, roadmap, and processes
  • Make recommendations to the business to help drive their goals & strategy
  • Drive business engagement with IT
  • Drive adoption of projects and products in the business to achieve stated business goals
  • Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Good understanding of systems & technology, and how it can be applied to create business value
  • Experience in the application of different management techniques to different types and levels of system problems across multiple units of the organization

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree + 2 years of relevant IT/manufacturing experience, OR Masters degree without experience
  • Candidate must live in either the Central Time Zone or Eastern Time Zone

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience working in or closely with Manufacturing Operations functions, and related processes & systems
  • Experience in manufacturing operations, medical device or similarly regulated industry
  • System implementation and integration experience
  • Master’s degree
