Corporate Strategy Manager

What you will do

Lets do this! Lets change the world. In this vital role Amgen is seeking a Corporate Strategy Manager to help define and influence the direction of the organization. The Manager will report to our Director of Corporate Strategy.

The Managers primary role will be to contribute to strategic initiatives that shape Amgens future examples of which include: supporting projects that address targeted strategic questions from leadership; analyzing recent external activities and their potential implications for our business; and, leveraging Wall Street forecasts and research reports to inform our understanding of the healthcare landscape more broadly.

While the Corporate Strategy Manager role can be located remotely there is an expectation that availability at times of high activity may need to accommodate some Pacific Time Zone working hours.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR Masters degree and 2 years of healthcare business experience

OR Bachelors degree and 4 years of healthcare business experience

OR Associates degree and 10 years of healthcare business experience

OR High school diploma / GED and 12 years of healthcare business experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree (or greater) in life sciences
  • MBA preferred
  • Experience in corporate strategy and/or management consulting
  • Knowledge of the healthcare landscape and biopharma industry
  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills with an emphasis on communications to senior executives
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and interpret sophisticated problems
  • Understanding of strategic frameworks and portfolio-level analysis
  • Financial acumen and strong analytical skills
  • Experience with key databases, EvaluatePharma and/or FactSet
  • Team oriented player with a strong work ethic
