The Role

The Director, Compliance Operations will be a key member of the Legal & Compliance Team, partnering with the VP, Legal & Chief Compliance Officer to strategically build and operate Karyopharm’s compliance program. This role will be responsible for leading multi-disciplinary efforts within the company related to compliance, including designing and implementing an effective training program, overseeing the company’s HCP spend reporting, and overseeing monitoring activities. The successful candidate in this role will develop strong and positive working relationships with colleagues at all levels, fostering a culture of compliance throughout Karyopharm.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Karyopharmer, reporting to VP, Legal & Chief Compliance Officer you will positively impact patients’ when you:

  • Design and implement an effective training program to ensure that all employees are educated on relevant laws and policies
  • Partner cross-functionally to foster a culture of compliance in the company’s interactions with healthcare professionals
  • Oversee the company’s HCP spend reporting, working across departments to manage the efficient collection and synthesis of data
  • Assist the Chief Compliance Officer with implementation of periodic risk assessments, audits, and reporting procedures to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk. Supports execution of preventative and corrective action plans to mitigate identified risks.
  • Develop and implement processes to monitor compliance with relevant laws and policies

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7 10 years legal experience, including in-house pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience
  • Strong understanding of the applicable laws and regulations, particularly the U.S. Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claims Act
  • Expertise on the PhRMA Code on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals and other relevant industry codes and guidelines
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally, effectively analyze and solve problems, and inspire support for legal/compliance initiatives
  • Masterful at executing both strategically and tactically
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple, conflicting priorities while managing a substantial workload
