As we are expanding our Engineering Team, we are looking for a passionate Engineering Team Leader who is excited about shaping the future of Education.

As an Engineering Team Leader, your goal will be to lead a tech team and fellow software engineers by developing their skills and fostering a culture of open communication and support. You will report to our CTO and with the other Leaders, you will work to improve the operating methodologies of the engineering area and will be the spokesperson for the needs of the team members.

Our technology stack consists of React, MobX and Styled Components for the frontend and PHP, Symfony, NodeJs, Golang, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis and Elasticsearch for the backend. In general, we always try to evaluate the most suitable technology to achieve our goals, the evaluation and testing of new technologies is part of our DNA.

 

About you
Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of professional experience in a similar role
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development overseeing and contributing to critical software and systems architecture decisions
  • Personnel and project management skills
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
  • Experience developing standards and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met and consistent
  • Designs, implements, and refines product development, testing, and delivery processes
  • Leads teams in the development of new products, solutions, and processes
  • Oversees project activities and resource allocation.
  • Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce waste.
  • Maintains high-level expertise in all fields of the entire technology stack
  • Assures that the outcome meets the internal quality and safety compliance with internal guidelines
Managerial Qualifications
  • Manages staff and assigns tasks to engineering and technical personnel
  • Experience recruiting, hiring and onboarding new team members
  • Experience working with people across different geographies and remotely
  • Ability to coach and develop teams to consistently deliver excellent superior results
  • Ability to advocate for and facilitate continuous improvement and learning
  • Strong communication (synchronous and asynchronous) skills, both written and oral, and the ability to interface with cross-functional teams
  • Communicates technical information to non-technical stakeholders, including potential customers
  • Collaborates with other team leaders and departments
  • Forges and maintains relationships with suppliers and customers
  • Critical thinking, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
Technical Qualifications
  • Knowledge of at least one object-oriented and functional development language
  • Good knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
  • Good knowledge of frontend and backend technologies and development
  • Knowledge of QA methodologies including test planning
  • Native English speaker or C1 level

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Work experience in SaaS product companies

About Us

We have recently closed a €6.4 million Series A funding round to scale technology and enter new markets. 

We provide an online classroom collaboration e-learning platform developed in-house by our Tech team that has enabled 1.7M (20% of) Italian students not to miss school – the other 2 platforms were Google and Microsoft – and to amplify their learning experience by leveraging digital tools during the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020.

And we plan to double our team in 2022 to push on our international growth with a full-remote first and objective-based approach.
