Job Description

Aging Media Network (AMN) is a digital-forward, business-to-business media (B2B) company that covers the $8 trillion business of aging and health care through five rapidly growing publications.

AMN is hiring an Executive Editor to oversee the strategy and expansion of our editorial teams across our five brands, each of which produces exclusive business news, podcasts, newsletters and live events for leading industry executives.

The Executive Editor will work closely with our managing editors and their teams (collectively 15+ full-time employees) to grow and engage our influential audiences by delivering insights they need to stay ahead of their competition.

Successful candidates are motivated to elevate the ambition and execution of our business journalism products and have a passion for growing a media company.

The Executive Editor will also work with our executive teams to plan and execute the launch of new editorially driven products/events across our portfolio and ensure our publications are must-reads for the leading executives in these fast-growing markets.

This position reports to the President/CEO.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee the editorial strategy and direction for our team of 15-plus journalists
  • Manage and supervise a team of managing editors and their teams, covering the senior housing, home health, skilled nursing, hospice, and behavioral health industries
  • Use web traffic analytics tools and trends to understand the needs of our audience and enhance the team’s overall impact
  • Develop and launch unique/high-value editorial products and collaborate with the executive team to help launch new publications
  • Help recruit job candidates to develop a pipeline of new journalists to join our growing team.
  • Oversee the editorial team’s execution of in-person and virtual events to ensure the highest quality speakers and experience

Qualifications:

  • A passion for shaping the future of digital business media and managing fast-growing editorial teams
  • Minimum of 10 years experience with at least 5+ years as a manager of larger teams
  • A deep understanding of vertical and niche markets, along with how to cover them (health care/finance/regulatory experience is preferred)
  • A successful record of launching and/or growing high-quality editorial products for business executives
  • Experience as a strong team player who can work cross-functionally within an organization and can consistently execute at a high level in a digital environment

AMN is headquartered in Chicago, IL but is open to remote candidates anywhere in the United States.
