Job Description

n8n is a low-code workflow automation tool that allows you to connect different services together with custom logic (think syncing your CRM with an internal database or allowing companies to easily build Slack bots for their products). In a world where everything is moving to the cloud, we’re aiming to turn the internet into a big pile of lego blocks so you can build stuff quickly and without coding. We now looking for a Head of Marketing to further accelerate our growth.

We launched in the end of 2019 to a ton of interest, and things have accelerated since then:

  • We have 15k MAUs (growing rapidly) and 25k+ GitHub stars
  • VCs are really excited about us. We were Sequoia’s first seed investment in Europe, and have raised a $12m Series A since then
  • Our community loves our product. Here are some of the things they tell us:
    • “I haven’t tattooed n8n because I don’t like tattoos otherwise I would’ve done it”
    • “it’s one of the most magical pieces of software I’ve used”

This role will report directly to the CEO, and will hugely impact the company’s growth, given our bottom-up go-to-market. You will:

  • Develop a marketing strategy from scratch, figuring out the channels, messaging and audiences that work best for us. Although you will start with one team member – an SEO Manager – and some existing agency relationships, you will have a clean slate to figure out what to invest in
  • Roll up your sleeves and execute: the first experiments will be run by you, so you will need to be comfortable writing copy, creating landing pages, setting up tracking, running campaigns, working with partners/agencies/freelancers, etc.
  • Scale the experiments that work
  • Own the website, supported by an external dev agency and marketing designer
  • Own our (sizeable) marketing budget
  • Drive the two main company KPIs: ARR and MAUs, and own our acquisition KPIs, e.g. new users


Must have

  • Previous experience marketing software products with a bottom-up, or product-led go-to-market strategy
  • You are an aspiring leader with a willingness to lead a small team
  • A T-shaped skillset: a generalist with a growth, hands-on and testing mindset able to drive a marketing strategy across various channels. You have a functional knowledge in demand gen or product growth with an emphasis on the word of mouth, organic growth and community
  • You will be driving websites improvement which means you are no stranger to CRO and setting up tracking
  • Analytical mindset: you know which metrics to measure, are comfortable handling data and your decision-making is driven by ROI
  • A builder and a do-er: able to be scrappy and work at pace with limited resources

This role can be done from anywhere within Europe. We can sponsor visas to Germany; for any other country, you need to have existing right to work. Our company language is English.
