Summary

As a Senior Product Designer you will be directly responsible for the experience our clients have on the platform by studying customer needs and creating a solution to deliver an appropriate experience. This is an exciting opportunity for those who are curious, diligent, and want to learn and develop their professional skills within a fast-growing start-up. As an early member of the team, we will work together to create the building blocks for our development strategy and set up the foundations and processes for future Product Designers at Avoma.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing the design process of a B2B SaaS application. We expect you to be a reliable professional, able to balance the needs of the product roadmap and the needs of the customers. Your overarching goal is to ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone using Avoma.

What you will be doing in the role (Responsibilities)
  • Create thoughtful and appropriate solutions to design challenges of all sizes by translating research insights into delightful user interfaces which satisfy user needs, business requirements and technical constraints.
  • Work in one of our multi­disciplinary product teams and collaborate with engineers in an iterative, transparent and feedback-driven process.
  • Produce engaging experiences using sketches, storyboards, information architecture blueprints and prototypes to collect feedback and iteratively improve and support the design process.
  • Translate wireframes and experiences into polished visual composites with attention to interaction design whilst following style and brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, engineering and user research to ensure a smooth, data-driven product development process
  • Design and prototype elegant and highly useful flows and experiences across multiple media
  • Create user flows, wireframes, site maps, customer journey maps, and other tools to guide the product development process.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to conceptualize, document, design and develop new product concepts.
  • Create high-fidelity mockups and work with engineers and product managers to oversee UI design implementation, while also serving as an advocate for design in strategic product decisions.
  • Develop comprehensive annotated design specifications and functional documentation for our engineering team.

Requirements

What you need to be successful in the role (Qualifications)
  • At least 4+ years of experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer or Visual Designer at B2B SaaS or Consumer Software company.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Graphic Design, HCI, Visual Communication, UX Design, etc) or you have relevant agency or extensive UX and UI design experience.
  • Proven experience in all phases of the design process including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing.
  • A sharp business mind and strong analytical skills to study user feedback and identifying patterns clarifying where to make product improvements.
  • An artistic and aesthetic eye to be creative in mixing up colors, shapes and techniques to translate consumers’ wants and needs into designs.
  • Great collaboration skills to work with the Customer Success team to understand which features are used the most versus the least to understand what is working well to further optimize the product and develop better product strategies in the future.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and front-end frameworks that you can communicate and collaborate with the engineering team.
  • Experience leading customer research and other open-ended research inquiries.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permeant Resident, we do not offer sponsorships at this time. Must reside in the US.

  • You can turn static wireframes and designs into interactive flows. You can scope and create prototypes for usability testing. You know showing is better than telling when it comes to UX.
  • You understand how design systems are built. You know when to follow and when to break established interaction patterns. You champion consistency, flexibility, and reuse.
  • You love Figma.
  • You have some experience designing and launching Android and iOS apps.
  • You have worked in an Agile environment before. You know things like sprints and Scrum.
  • You understand how to track and interpret metrics so that they can influence product decisions.
  • Knowledge of SaaS, Artificial Intelligence, Sales, CRM domains.
