What we’re looking for…

MELON is seeking a stellar Sr Game Developer is responsible for helping produce some of the most extraordinary, collaborative gaming experiences on the Roblox platform. As a game developer, you will be working from extensive blueprint documents provided by our game design division. These game projects range from 2-6 months each and require full-time availability to produce the best work possible. You will be expected to manage your own time to develop basic and complex systems that work as intended, bug fix and test your work alongside our QA team and assist in problem-solving to create unique systems and functions.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Use the Roblox game engine to build world-class virtual experiences and games with support for multiple end-user platforms
  • Use a mix of server-side and client-side logic to execute upon project goals
  • Implement character avatar features, Game Pass APIs, and other Roblox services to achieve high-quality results
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, new mechanics, etc.
  • Maintain and improve existing codebases
  • Write and maintain automated tests
  • Analyze bug and crash reports, fix problems, and optimize performance
  • Work with Game Designers to ensure desired goals are met in project visions
  • Work with World Designers to ensure dynamic map elements work as intended

What you should have…

  • 4+ Years Working With LUA
  • 2+ Years working with Roblox Studio or similar.
  • Deep understanding of development fundamentals
  • Experience working with Git
  • Ability to develop both complex and essential systems.
  • Ability to work alongside other Game Developers.
  • Ability to create documented codebases and read other developers’ codebases.
  • Ability to fluently communicate in English via Text and Voice
  • Ability to problem-solve and communicate problems.
  • Ability to stay on schedule and manage your own time.
